Brief About MCD

PLN.Bashir Joseph Asibi is the current Municipal Coordinating Director of the Jaman South Municipal Assembly. With extensive experience in local governance and development administration, he has championed key projects aimed at improving infrastructure, education, healthcare, and economic empowerment across the municipality. He is committed to inclusive governance and works closely with traditional authorities, youth groups, and civil society organizations to foster community development.

Another important structure in the organization and functioning of the Municipal Assembly is the Office of the Coordinating Directorate. The administrative and technical unit of the Assembly and is headed by the Municipal/District Coordinating Director. It is responsible for assisting the District Assembly in the performance of its duties under the Local Government Act (such as coordinating and harmonising the work programmes of the decentralised Departments of the Assembly) and under the National Development Planning (Systems) Act.

The MCD is the only officer who is neither elected nor appointed by the Assembly. He is appointed on merit by the Local Government Service.
