Presentation of Awards to COVID-19 Frontline Health and Allied Workers
On wednesday 5th July 2023, the Upper Denkyira East Municipal Assembly in collaboration with Upper Denkyira West, Twifo Hemang Lower Denkyira and Twifo Atimokwa District Assemblies and all Health Directorates in the above Districts held a colourful award ceremony at the Church of Pentecost J.K. Prah Temple, Dunkwa-On-Offin for some one hundred and thirty-three health and allied workers who had been identified by the Presidency for Presidential Honours for their Distinguished Services during the COVID-19 pandemic period.
Present at the ceremony were the MMDCEs of the various districts, the Denkyira Ebusuapanyin, Nana Ponfo Agyeman III and Kontihene for Denkyira, Dr Nana Ntim Twum Barima II.
Again the various health directorates were ably represented by their directors. The Clergy were also represented by Rev. Peterking Owusu Arthur of Presby Church- Resurrection Congregation and Pastor Kwabena Ansah also of Church of Pentecost Dunkwa-Central and the Muslim community was also represented by Rasha Fuseni, Kotokoli Chief and Sidi Ali who is also the Ebusuapanyin for Zongo.
Hon. Ebenezer Appiah Forson (MCE) in his address expressed gratitude on behalf of the President to the Frontline Health and Allied Workers for their services to the nation. He further admonished all health workers to continue to offer quality service to general public.
The Municipal Health Director for Upper Denkyira East also encouraged health workers to give their best as they offered during the COVID-19 period.
In all 126 workers were honored from the four district by the President of the nation.
The event was successfully conducted and nominees were presented with their awards.
