JUSTICE AND SECURITY SUB-COMMITTEE MEETING – UDEMA
The Justice and Security Sub-Committee held a meeting on Tuesday, 17th September 2024 at the Municipal Assembly Conference Hall in Dunkwa-On-Offin.
In his welcomed address, Hon. Jonathan Wireko-Chairman Justice and Security Sub-Committee welcomed all members to the meeting. He urged everyone to participate in all deliberations. A self-introduction of members was led by Hon. Jonathan Wireko.  
The agenda for discussion were: Security preparedness towards the election period, Clamp down on prostitution and other illicit trade within the Municipality and Streetlight situation.
On the security preparedness towards the election period, Supt. Bernard Norgah disclosed that his outfit need logistics such as transportation and fuel. He indicated that the Assembly should provide a strong pick up for his outfit to maintain peace and order ‘before/during and after’ the election.
He indicated that his outfit is in collaboration with the election security task force for peace to prevail in the Municipality and among citizens ‘before/during and after’ the election. 
On clamp down on prostitution and other illicit trade within the Municipality, Deputy Supt. Immigration-Eric Aidoo disclosed that his outfit in collaboration with the police apprehended some of the people. He indicated that some were charged and sentenced and some were deported. 
He added that the challenge is the deportation. He noted that those engaged in this illegal activity are put under oath by their so call masters. He emphasized that we have to work as one to fight this illegal activity in the Municipality by involving the traditional leaders. 
On Streetlight situation, committee members agreed that Assembly Members should identify the number of streetlights in their electoral areas for the Assembly through the Assembly electrician to fix them all.
