Hon. Kwesi Owusu Antwi Re-elected (2nd term) as Presiding Member For Upper Denkyira East.
The Upper Denkyira East Municipal Assembly organized a special assembly meeting purposely for the election of a new Presiding Member on March 28, 2022 at the church of pentecost, Abankesieso assembly at 10:00am.
In attendance was the MCE, MCD, MFO assembly members, government appointees, Heads of department/units , media and the general public.
Three (3) people picked forms to contest but only one person in the person of Hon Kwesi Owusu Antwi (Atechem Assembly members :the incumbent Presiding Member) filled accurately and submitted his form to recontest but was unoppossed.
The other two returned their forms empty thereby stepping down from the election.
Hon Kwesi owusu Antwi raised a concern that since he is the only one standing for the election there will be no need for election sighting a section of the the constition.
The Electoral Commissioner objected and proceeded.The assembly members were called upon one after the other by their names to cast their votes.
in all 37 out of 42 members voted with the results as follows
YES = 36
No= 1
hence Hon Akwesi owusu Antwi (Assembly member for atechem) was re-elected (2nd term) as the Presiding Member.
The MCE after the voting addresing the Assembly members encouraged them to be forthcoming with their needs to the Assembly and do their best to make the Assembly a great one.
